TEAM BUILDING TRAINING FOR EXCELLENT BUSINESS GROWTH


There’s no doubt that trainings help in developing people which eventually helps in business growth. But what do you think of team building trainings? Do they help in business growth?
I’m sure you’re wondering why I’m asking you this question. When I already said that trainings contribute to business growth, team building trainings should do the same, right? Then why do you think I’m still asking you if team building trainings serve that purpose too?
That’s because, many a time team building training is considered as an outing or a form of recreation for employees taken offsite. In fact, we get a lot of such enquiries where organisations want to conduct team building trainings as a part of their team outings for fun. They actually insist on keeping the debriefs minimal. And hence sometimes team building trainings are not taken very seriously and may be considered as simply a way to have fun.
I, on the other hand, personally feel that team building trainings are the most important one’s for business growth. This is the time when the whole team is together and away from work. They can therefore focus on bonding with each other and build those bonds that will help them back at work.
Yes, fun definitely is a big motive of team building trainings. Fun is what keeps the atmosphere light and creates a space where people enjoy mingling and getting to know each other better. And when they know each other better and bond better, a very different level of trust is created. This results in working together more efficiently, and eventually more productivity and business growth.
How? Because when you trust your team members, you are more open to each other in your ways and thought processes. This reduces conflict big time and you actually enjoy working together. And that’s when you become more productive and an overall happier team.
Team building training provides a platform where teams and team members can get aware of how they operate in and as a team. They can then work on becoming a better team to achieve better results.
So I’m sure you now know why I feel team building trainings should be given highest priority! They do after all serve multiple purposes like effective communication skills, learning, awareness, development, growth, business results, efficient teams, well bonded and motivated teams, better workplace environment and most importantly, fun! Team building training is truly a buffet!

Daily Dose of Leadership Training

Leadership Training or for that matter leadership, is a very broad term and is applicable to everyone, whether it is the watchman of the office, the CEO of a big company, a father or a husband at home. However it is often misunderstood as a term that most people link to leadership positions they hold in the society or in organizations.
So let's understand leadership a little more in depth to be able to know what it actually means.
I would like to share a real life scenario where i experienced leadership capabilities in a fried fish seller recently.
There is a fried fish seller who operates from the road near our office and I eat fried fish every other day from him. His fried fish are fresh and very tasty.
 This particular time that i visited him, he had just come back from a long holiday of over 3 months and I was wondering where he had been. When i asked him, he said that he had taken a break as the fish market is closed for 3 months of the monsoon season. I asked what he was doing for those 3 months and he said he drove an auto riksha for around 8 hours a day during these months.
 The next question I asked him was how he managed his house expenses with this business of fish selling being a part time business, to which he answered that it was difficult and he was just about able to manage. He also said that he was quite happy as he did not want to slog and do additional work like other people in his locality.

 I wondered what could be the reason behind him not being interested in working harder and making more money for his family and finally landed up asking him. 
His answer was that he had 3 sons and spent a large part of the day in teaching them and ensuring that they get the best of education, love and nurturing. He said that as a part of his efforts his 2 sons were doing very well at school and he wanted them to grow and not be a fish seller like him. If he would have not spent time with his children then they would also have no future like him and would end up on the road. His wife was also at home and ensured she was available for the children and the husband all the time. The family was thus fully focused together in their goal of bringing up their children and giving them the best environment.
 I felt it was great to see the foresight of a father who was illiterate and had no formal education and I felt truly inspired. 
Now this was an example of pure leadership for me, where the father of the house had a larger vision for his family and children. He understood how not to get sucked into the daily routine of life and to keep his vision strong and worked on it day by day. He was also self aware and felt that earning loads of money was not as important as his children’s future.

Such examples are all around us at all points of time and there is a lot to learn from them and then experiment and imbibe into our routine life.  In fact it's easier to learn from the little things in life rather than trying to digest big theories!

Leadership Training or Awareness Training!

It’s funny how we sometimes suddenly stumble upon things when we are least expecting it. That’s exactly what happened to me this morning when I woke up. I suddenly realized that everything was about awareness. Here we all were, trying to understand the game of life, trying to get a hold on how to play it right so that we could be happy. We were running behind various things like money, fame and fortune, desperately trying to have good relationships with the people around us, trying to fulfill the many desires we have and trying to learn new skills to feel more fulfilled and satisfied in life.  But was it really helping? Were these things really able to fill the void that all of us feel inside? Was our constant endeavor of being better than the rest actually able to make us happy? Did having a bigger house, pot loads of money, more children or the best education really give us the happiness that we had been looking for? Well momentarily may be, but it certainly didn’t last the lifetime that we would have wanted it to.

What awareness I am talking about. Awareness of what? Awareness of everything is my answer. Awareness of your feelings, awareness of your reactions, awareness of your joys, awareness of your pain, awareness of your thoughts, awareness of your physical sensations, awareness of your movements…In short, awareness of everything that you can possibly think off! When you can do this, it connects you to your source and that’s what I call true Leadership Training. Then you are the king and you can do whatever you feel like, the heart and soul of it and only then can the true leader inside you emerge.

So what is the thing that can fill the pot of the beggar inside each and every one of us? It was simply connecting to ourselves. Connecting to the infinite source within us which could satisfy us endlessly and ensure that we felt abundance in every area of our lives. That source that would never go dry and would wipe out the loneliness that we all feel so very often. Yes, it was the source which could fulfill every desire of yours and ensure that you lived life to the fullest. Am sure you must be curious to know whether I learnt about this source in my dream or whether it really exists! Well, it really does exist and the way to reach it is not some difficult and complicated methodology that you have to practice. It’s the most simple thing that can possibly be, which is why we find it so difficult! Confused? Haven’t you noticed that we all love the most complicated things in life. In fact if we have a simple solution to a problem, we can never even see it as our mind always thinks “it couldn’t be that simple!” Similarly, we have made finding our source also complicated. Some of us pray or chant endlessly for it, some use techniques like Neuro LinguisticProgramming and Hypnotherapy to try to get close to it. However none of us take the time to actually find out what all these methods are trying to do. If you go deeper into each one of them, you will realize that they all have the same foundation. It’s like climbing up a mountain using different difficult methods. What would happen if I told you what the direct method was? It could seem a little steep to you in the initial phase as you are not used to climbing, but believe me, if you can get past the initial resistance, you won’t turn towards any other so called technique. It is after all what all the other methods make you do in disguise, one that is really the root of every method. It’s calledawareness.
