3 ADVANTAGES OF ENGLISH LANGUAGE TRAINING

English language training is probably one of the most conducted language training in the world. In fact, almost every country in the world has English language training institutes and classes. Most people give preference to learning the English language as a secondary language. Do you know why?
There are a lot of advantages of learning the English language. Especially in countries like India, where every region has a different language of its own and conversing can become quite a job! You therefore need a language that can be understood by all, and English becomes a good option. The same applies at a global level. English being a common language, becomes a saviour when you have to converse with people from different countries.
Let’s discuss the top three advantages of English language training:
  1. The first advantage of communication skills training is what we have already discussed. English is a universal language and one of the most spoken languages in the world. If you learn the language you have higher chances of sustaining in any part of the world. Also, if you plan to go to a particular country, you can undergo an English language training customized as per the country.

  1. The second biggest advantage is, the confidence that knowing English gives. In India, as we know, people are judged on the basis of their ability to speak English. Literacy and knowing English language are often mistaken as the same thing. Which very often results in low self- confidence for a lot of people who come from a vernacular background. This is unfortunately an often-unspoken truth that many people have to face. Therefore, its best to learn the language. If it’s something that can boost your confidence, why not?

  1. Not only does English language training give us more confidence, but it also increases the confidence and develop the personality that others have in us. How often have you seen people getting rejected in job interviews due to poor English speaking skills. In fact, many of them may even get rejected at the resume shortlisting stage as their written English creates a negative impression more often than not. English language training therefore increases the opportunities that we get in life and make it easier to get that coveted job in our dream company!
English is not our national language and is therefore not mandatory to learn English. But I also think that there is no loss in learning it either. If anything, it will only add as a benefit to you in some way or the other.
With increased globalisation, English language training are currently being conducted at large across our country. If you feel at least one of the above three mentioned advantages are motivating enough for you, go for it. Learning English will only help you progress in your life. And if you find more advantages, we would be happy to hear them😊 https://theyellowspot.com/

IMPORTANCE OF BEHAVIOURAL SKILLS TRAINING AT THE WORKPLACE

I was talking to a friend of mine the other day. She was telling me about some of her workplace issues. And being in this industry since quite some time now, I recommended a behavioural skills training to her.
My friend had been working in a large multinational since the past 10 odd years. She had loved working there till the last time I met her, which was a year back. However things were drastically different now. She hated going to work and had started to feel like she had become a really nasty version of herself!
So what had happened in the past 1 year to bring about the change? A new colleague had joined. This new lady was typically a strong personality who liked to take charge of things and also as my friend put it, people around her! She wanted things done her way and would go to any length at arguing to get them. She would not listen to anyone and getting across to her was a real job.
This behaviour of hers was not just troubling her team members but also those from other departments. As a result, there were many conflicts, the aggressive ones along with the ‘artificial harmony’ ones as we call them in the training world. People would spend large amounts of time talking about her difficult behaviour which was spreading negativity and bad blood at a fast pace through the organisation. Even her manager had tried talking to her multiple times but was left in vain.
This was a classic case of a need of a behavioural skills training as well as communication skills training. Now why behavioural skills training and not just a one on one coaching for the person causing the trouble? Because everyone needed to be adept at handling such people.
There are various types of people in this world. Some are aggressive while others withdraw during a conflict. Many people think that withdrawal is a good option. Frankly, both of them are not great positions. Why? Because they are both not solution oriented so at that point conflict management training is important. While one adds to the conflict directly, the other in trying to keep away from it actually adds fire to it unknowingly. By not speaking about what you feel, you actually store negative emotions in your system which alter your behaviour towards the person. The person in turn senses that energy and starts further altering their behaviour towards you. This results in a negative spiral that just keeps getting worse. And one fine day may actually end in an emotional explosion when least expected!
So if you ask me, behavioural skills training was the need at both ends, for the aggressive lady and the others. The lady needed to understand how she was coming across to others and how it was affecting people around her. The others needed to learn how to effectively deal with conflict and have difficult conversations rather than shying away from them.
Such issues crop up at home and in the workplace very often. Whether aggressive wars or silent cold ones, they all need to be sorted out effectively. And the art can be learned in behavioural skills training programs and practiced post that. If you and your team needs such a session, sign up for our skillful conversations session today.

Which managerial skill makes you a good leader?

Do you agree with me when I say to be a good leader you need good managerial skills? Well, being a leader is about managing things. Even managerial skills training is also a leadership training all in all, as a manager is also a leader. The skills that a manager or a leader possess are not very different from each other.

A leader is a multidimensional manager. According to me, for becoming a great leader there are certain managerial skills that are a must for a leader to possess. Let me list them down for you.
1.       Communication

The first and the foremost skill that tops the list no matter what is, effective communication skill. A leader is expected to be a good communicator. There a team that follows the leader. To ensure things are getting done properly, the team is harmonious and always motivated; communicating aptly is immensely important. even to resolve conflicts the leader should be able to listen carefully and speak assertively.

2.       Collaboration
As a leader, team is the most important piece of your role. Managing the team and keeping them collaborated and motivated can be a task in itself. Not just the team who are also your internal stakeholders but also managing the external stakeholders is one of the key roles of a leader. Living up to the expectation of your internal and external stakeholders is a job. Collaborating with your team members through the regular ups and downs of the team dynamics is where the leader stands tough.

3.       Leadership
This is a little too obvious. You obviously need leadership skills training to be a good leader. Even managerial skills training programs are focused around leadership skill as a key aspect in it. If you lack the ability to be an effective leader; the tasks you undertake may be delayed, your team deadlines will certainly be missed, and your team’s morale may suffer greatly. Everything can become haywire.

4.       Critical Thinking
Leaders or managers are expected to think strategically as a part of their role. They are an important part of the organisation and play an extremely important role in the business strategy. Hence, thinking critically is essential for the leaders. Think critically help is solving problems and making tactical decisions.

There are many managerial skills that overlap with leadership skills. being a good leader is all bout upskilling yourself. Call it managerial skills or leadership skills, anything that upgrades you to become a better leader for your people is the skill that you should have. These are just a few as mentioned above. A managerial skills training will help you become a good leader and when you become a good leader you are by default becoming a good manager.

Why leadership training should be a top priority?

Every organisation is run by leaders. There is nothing in this world that can be run without a leader. But there is also an assumption that lot of people have, ‘leaders know it all’. In fact, even some of the leaders think so. Leadership training is one of the most important training programs that most of the people in the organisation will eventually end up in to.

Why? Because you are expected to take a leadership position after certain point of time. Be it a team leader or the CEO of the organisation, to be honest, the leadership skills required would be similar. It is just the experience and criticality of the role increases with the level.

But when we talk a leader, it doesn’t matter what level it is in the organisation, it is extremely important. a role of a leader is not soothing that can be taken lightly. There are people who look up to you. They wait for you to help them guide them.

For a team to stay on the right path and be able to deal with the challenges, an effective leader is a must. As John Maxell has rightly said, ‘A leader is one who knows the way, goes the way and shows the way’.

It is because of a leader that the team can either prosper or fail. He or she ensures the team has a set a goal for itself so to provide them goal setting training, help them pave the way to achieve that goal and stays motivated throughout the journey. The job does not end there. When in case of failure, the leader must always take the blame a little more than his or her share and when in case of success, keep the team ahead of himself. That is what a true leader is.

As a leader your focus should always be to lead by example. There are a lot of dos and don’ts of being an effective leader. Obviously, each person also has a different leadership style. But a leadership training ensures you use your ingrained leadership style with some techniques and emerge a better and successful leader.

Leadership training cannot make you a good leader in a span of 2 days. That would be too exaggerated. If someone promises you that, do not believe it. Becoming an effective leader is a process and in that process communication skill training also important for leader. Leadership training can help you set the base and a make a strong foundation for that. Experience helps big time. And a leadership training supports that experience. By attending the leadership training program, you know the unspoken rules of being a successful leader. Do you aspire to become one? https://theyellowspot.com/

HOW TO COMMUNICATE EFFECTIVELY?

‘N’ no. of time we have discussed the importance of communication skills training in the past. We all know how important it is to be able to communicate effectively not just in our workplace but also everywhere else. It does not matter if you are at a leadership position or you just a junior level professional, good communication is a must.
It is possible that you’re your communication skills can help you grab or make you lose opportunities. As they, it not what you say it, it is how you say it. you must have noticed that sometimes you try to say something, and the other person ends up misunderstanding you while your colleague or friend explain them the same thing in a different manner and manages to make them understand. How do you think that happens? It is mere difference in the way you communicate something.
When you are able to communicate effectively, chances of misunderstanding lessen. As a result of which your relationships are clearer and healthier. Be it at your workplace or in your personal life.
Communication is not just about you saying things and the other person listening. It is a two-way process. Right? We were thought, that communication is an exchange of ideas and information. But do we remember that? No! being open and also willing to listen to what others have to say, not just verbal but catching on the non-verbal actions and soft skill training, that is what communication is all about.
With time, people’s concept of communication has been changing. It become more of the meaning that we find convenient. Some people even misunderstand communication for language. It funny, isn’t it?
If you wish to communicate effectively, first thing you need to do is let go of all the misconceptions you have in your mind regarding communication. The moment you are ready to unlearn all your misconceptions, you will be able to understand the true meaning. Communication far deeper than mere exchange of words. It involves environment, medium, visuals, looking beyond words, listening carefully, etc.
I am sure the communication skills training programs these days also focus on how one should be communicating in a workplace, the mere dos and don’ts of it. that is not what a communication skills training should be all about.
Communication skills training should be able to team you to connect with a person on a person level. Understanding the other person. Being able to handle the difficult conversations. That is something we need our communications skills mostly for.
Begin to clear your mind of the typical understanding of the word, communication and start looking beyond it! That is when you will understand the concept of communication clearly.

5 Reasons why everyone should learn English

Sometimes, people are ashamed that they are incapable of speaking English. I have also seen people not being very proud of attending English language training in order to enhance their English language.

Why is it so? Why are people ashamed that they have to take training to learn how to speak and write a particular language. Just because it is English? Yes, it is important to know more than one language. It is also important to know English because it is one of the most widely use languages in the world. But there is nothing to be ashamed of if you do not know how to speak in English. And definitely nothing to be ashamed of if you are taking the efforts to learn by opting for an English language training.

One should be proud that they have the ability and awareness to accept their shortcomings and look forward to work on it. learning more than one language is always an advantage. And English is one language that one should try to learn it if not known and if known, to make it better.
Knowing how to speak and write English can be beneficial to us in many ways. That is also what my article today is focused on; reasons why should one learn English and why English language training is important.

To list down a few points that come to my mind;

Firstly, I think, and I am sure many people will agree with me that English is the easiest language that one can learn. If your first language is not English and you wish to learn a second language, nothing is easier than English

Secondly, as I said previously, English is one of the most commonly spoken languages in the world. Hence, knowing English can help you in communicating and networking with more people coming from different cultures

Thirdly, it can give boost your confidence and also enhance your personality development
Also, since English is spoken so commonly all over the world, being able to speak and write English can help you open the door to a whole of new and exciting opportunities for you
Lastly, English is also the most common language for media. As internet is so common these days, English is something that can keep you up-to-date with everything happening the world and help you participate in it at all points of time.

English language training might not be very popular, but it definitely is a boon to lot of people. It is time we stop being judgmental about taking up English language training for our own sake of development and moving ahead in life to be successful.

Importance of communication in business

Every organisation should definitely invest in communication skills training. I don’t think there is any argument about how important communication is in any organisation for its business to sustain.
There might many other factors that help an organisation grow and help it business flourish. But I don’t think there is any factor that is as important as having good communication. Communication skills is the basic requirement for any role we know that. But do we ever think about how critical it is.
Business is all about the revenue that the company generates. That is what decides if the company is doing well or not. What do you think is the most common string that makes sure everything happens successfully? There is no rocket science to it, it is Communication.
Are you thinking what am I trying to say? Well, let me explain. Communication is involved throughout the operations and also after that. It is throughout the creating, selling and delivering of products or services.it is important for each person involved throughout this process to have excellent communication skills for delivering the best results and passing on to the next team. Communication skills will help the organisation and their people in every facet of business operation and getting higher revenues in return.
Even for marketing the product or service the biggest component in picture is the ability to communicate the good side of it to the target market. Hitting the right spot is the key. And that is done through what – effective communication.
Other most important benefit of having effective communication skills is having best performing teams within the organisation. Having positive teams is a boon to the organisations where there is clear communication within and between the teams. That mainly creates long lasting relationships. What else do you need if you have high performing teams.
This also majorly helps in conflict management. Well, there is no team without conflict and healthy conflict is the ingredient to a strong team. Effective communication skills within the team can help in handling and resolving the conflicts effectively too. With the level of relationship, the maturity also increases. That also helps in people voicing their opinions and gives space for creativity to come in.
Communication skills training might be extremely underrated training program in todays time. But I don’t think there is anyone that can still deny the importance of communication skill training in organisations. It is still one of the most common training programs that organisations make it a point to conduct for their people.

HOW CUSTOMER SERVICE TRAINING IMPROVES CLIENT SATISFACTION‎

Something very interesting happened this morning. It reminded me of how Customer Service Training can do wonders for an organisation and of course its customers.
Let me tell you what happened.
My Mom had a Sonography done last week. We previously used to get it done from a very well known place. It’s a chain of diagnostic centres which has grown in huge proportions over the last few years. We had been using their services since many years but have recently been introduced to another diagnostic centre.
Initially we resisted when we first heard the recommendation as we had heard some ‘not so great’ things about them in the past. But our Doctor told us that we should try it out and so we gave it a go. And frankly we were amazed with our experience. In fact it truly felt like this organisation development had been freshly through a customer service training!
Firstly, they had less crowds as compared to the other guys.  And that is frankly great. There’s place to move around, people have time to talk to you and have time to actually take care of you and ask you if you need anything. The toilets are also much cleaner which is of prime importance when you go for a sonography considering the amount of water they make you drink!
In short, we were amazed with the service we received. And not to mention my Doctor was happier too as their reports were very detailed.
The topping on the cake however happened this morning.
As you must be aware, many diagnostic centres take money before even giving you any service. This one is different. Mom had called them up twice post her test was done, to come and collect the money from our house. The guy finally showed up this morning. On being questioned why he had not taken the money earlier, he said that their organisation’s focus was on building relationships. Money was secondary to them and they were not desperate to receive the same. They were a little caught up with things and were in no hurry to collect the money.
Mom was left with a hanging jaw! Never had she heard anyone say that before! Money was primary for most people. But this organisation was different. And this is what customer service is truly made up of.
Caring for the customer should be utmost for all organisations. After all, they are the reason we exist. However, running in the rat race, most organisations tend to forget this. They start of alright but once they start growing they just forget. Growth and money is all that really matters to them after sometime. And that’s where customer service training fits in.
Customer service training reminds such organisations of what it was that they set out to do. It brings forth a mirror in front of the organisation, giving them awareness of what they are doing and where they are headed. Aligning all your employees to service the customer with all your heart is extremely important. Yet it can be difficult especially if you have grown to a large organisation made up of individuals with different goals.
This only goes to show why customer service training needs to be an integral part of your strategy. It’s a powerful way to keep yourself on track and remember your goal – to genuinely serve the customer.  That’s three cheers for customer service training😊
